Hey guys the other day I was sat thinking how lucky I was to be a bit of a handy man D.I.Y kind of guy. You know when you hit that last nail or brush the last bit of varnish onto your finished peace of work feels awesome, whether it is building from scratch or fixing something around the house. My last little project was just sanding down and re-varnishing a coffee table from top to bottom, nice and easy, time consuming and rather therapeutic. My biggest project must have been the tree house me and my friend build for his kids, it is 3M x 3M x 2M and in a huge tree with a slide coming out of one side and steps from the other, Funnily enough he has not long asked to see if I wanted to go fit a fireman’s pole in for a little extra fun.
I know that D.I.Y isn’t for everyone but everyone should give it ago before calling someone in the amount of money you can save is huge. It’s worth just learning little here and there from friends and family until it all builds up and you a little handy yourself. It don’t take a massive garage full of tools and materials to be able to fix things yourself sometimes you can even D.I.Y the tools to make it work. I travelled around S.E.A a few years back and the things they do to make anything work is astonishing, nothing ever dies out here for and a sell by date they will keep everything going. I learnt a lot whilst there and will carry the memories with me, like using a piece of metal pipe bashing it down with a hammer and bending it to make a flat head screw driver.
